Bloom Where God has Planted You!

Written by Sister2Sister Contributor:  Ann Adams – Florida

Matthew 5:16

““In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

This is a very interesting scripture. It reminds us to “bloom where God has planted us”.  The very first time I saw this scripture was at a Ladies Bible Study and the host congregation made cupcakes that looked like dirt but tasted good with plastic flowers stuck up in the dirt quoting the above scripture.

God has put us all in different situations, married or single, working or not working.  He expects us to have an impact on those around us.  Work, home and social activities are where we can shine as a Christian. Inviting non-Christians to worship services, and talking to people about God (a waitress at a restaurant or a dry cleaning attendant) are examples of shining our light.

 Blooming also shows growth.

 Matthew 13:43

“Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

It’s up to us to plant the seed!

  1 Cor. 3:5-7

“What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task.  I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.  So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”
